A Tough Brofest

This year's Brofest was a tough one for me. It was a continual tug of war on my heart, my mind, and my emotions. I was getting up early to go to the doctor's appointments with Jessi, and staying up late to hang out with the guys. The very worst part was a night where the guys crashed in exhaustion, but Jessi was up on Skype with her friends, who were having a sleepover in North Carolina. I was really glad for her to get the chance to escape the gloom and connect with her friends, especially since she was supposed to be there. It left me without a place to sleep, so I just laid down in the hallway, to wait it out. When Jessi came to get me, I knew that I was going to have a cold, it lasted the next two weeks.

Despite all that, I really feel blessed by the Lord. He's seen the end from the beginning, and it's not like He didn't realize these two events were going to collide on top of one another. It was great to have the guys pray for me, and it was great to have chances to get out of the house, out of the despair and experience the joy of traveling, the focus of gaming, and the fellowship of brothers together in the Lord. It's not the way I would have chosen to lay the schedule out, but I believe it's what He wanted.
